Our Zoom Meeting with Dr. David White, The Soil Doctor from Ojai, is an incredible harvest of information about regenerative organic techniques and the importance of healthy soil. He is passionate about composting, bacteria, fungi, native plants, and is spreading the word that organic gardening can save the world by restoring the soil, water, and air.
Dr. White established the Ojai Center for Regenerative Agriculture, which promotes all aspects of regenerative organic agriculture which increase the carbon content and health of our soils. His https://www.onceuponawatershed.org program provides hands-on local watershed education, restoration and stewardship experience for Kindergarten, 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students in the Ventura River Watershed. His new “Story of our Pollinators” curriculum unit for 5th graders at the Rio School District has an in-class presentation followed by a field trip to the Nature Conservancy’s Santa Clara River Preserve near Santa Paula where students participate in native plantings and connecting with the nature of the river.
