Tour of Seaside Gardens in Carpinteria

Organic Garden Club members enjoyed a delightful day at Seaside Gardens in Carpinteria with over 3 acres and eleven garden vignettes that provide an around-the-world sampling of plants that thrive in this coastal environment.

After visiting the gift shop, we arrived at the Tropical gardens filled with rare plants and trees.

Organic Garden Club members ambled through the Central South American Gardens.

We went by the Wetland Bioswale and into the Australian Gardens.

We wandered through the South African Garden.

Mary picked grapes in the Mediterranean pergola and we enjoyed the ambiance.

Jeanette was fascinated by the unusual varieties in the Succulent Garden.

Becky, Vivian, and Jill posed like Three Graces in the Circular Bird Garden.

The lotus pond in the Asian garden at Seaside Gardens in Carpinteria is filled with large koi fish and smaller goldfish. Even though the lotus flower blossoms peaked in July, we were entranced with the multicolored leaves, dragonflies, and the tall Giant Lotuses.

Visit Gallop & Stribling Orchid Nursery

Organic Garden Club members visited Gallop & Stribling Orchid Nursery, a large, long-established, wholesale nursery in Carpinteria with a diverse selection of orchids grown in a sustainable fashion for over 50 years.

At Gallop and Stribling Orchid Nursery, we were shown an Orchid Propagation Display for Seed breeding and Tissue Culture cloning that their laboratory has used to develop a legacy of gorgeous orchids.

Gallop and Stripling Orchid Nursery is known for their lovely potted orchid and plant designs.

We were delighted to discover local organic produce! Plus lovely air plants and drought friendly succulents.

The Good Plow Organic Restaurant

We ended our tours in Carpinteria at The Good Plow, a certified organic restaurant and bakery that grows their own produce on a small local farm.
